The 23-year-old blamed Mourinho for his premature ending at Old Trafford - The Belgium international says he is happy playing for Real Sociedad Real Sociedad star

Adnan Januzaj has blamed Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for his premature ending at Old Trafford. The Belgium international believes he is still good enough to feature for the Red Devils after bursting into the scene under former United manager David Moyes.

The skillful attacker also struggled under Louis Van Gaal before Mourinho took over as manager of the club.  He then sent on a loan move to Sunderland after failing to convince the Portuguese tactician about his abilities.

"I didn't really get a chance because at the time he [Mourinho] probably wanted more experienced players with names," Januzaj told Sky Sports News. "I had to move on and now I am happy in Spain and making a difference.

"I always knew I had the quality to play for Manchester United. I know what I am capable of. 'They didn't give me a chance but it's not a problem. I am happy in Spain and enjoying my football."

Januzaj played 35 times for United in 2013-14 and was hailed as an emerging prospect at Old Trafford. However he is now back to his best with the La Liga club after drifting and was part of Belgium's squad to the Russia 2018 World Cup. The 23-year-old scored a glorious goal against England in their last group match that eventually saw Belgium finish third in the tournament.
